Donation of Objects

The Laconia Historical & Museum Society welcomes the donation of objects that complement and enhance our existing collections. As outlined below, LHMS follows a policy of selective acquisition. Each donation request is thoughtfully considered by the Collections Committee and reviewed by the Board of Directors to determine if the gift aligns with the Society’s Collections Policy.

 

Accepted items should support our mission, be historically relevant, and be in good condition.
 

Please refrain from dropping off donations at the Laconia Public Library prior to completing the donation process and being contacted by a member of the Collections Committee.

Please include detailed information about the item(s) you wish to donate, including the who, what, where, when, and how associated with the object(s). This should include a description of the item or items, who they belonged to, where they originated, and how
they came into your possession.
 

We also ask that you provide any known history or provenance, including the approximate age of the item(s), and key dates or time periods associated with their use.
