Corrections

Noted by the author Warren D. Huse

The following are corrections to the book "Celebrate Laconia - 125 Years of the Lake City" published in 2017

In the photo at the bottom of Page 61, the man at the extreme left was John "Smiley" Fitzgerald.

A clarification on Page 63, at the top:
The sentence beginning, "Tefft 'did not remain ..." should have read: "Ward Six Councilor Harold Tefft 'did not remain ....' "

On Page 82, in the photo of Dr. Werner von Braun, the man at the left was New Hampshire Rep. (and former NH Attorney General) Louis Wyman, not U.S. Rep James Cleveland.

On Page 143, the caption for the photo of the Tamarack Drive-In is in error. The correct caption should read as follows: The Tamarack Drive-In, north of The Weirs, has been a landmark near the Roller Coaster-Watson Road intersection for more than half a century, having been established in 1960 by Joseph L. Gilbert. Other owners, over the years have included Paul and Norman Laflamme, Steven G. and Regina Furnald and Ed and Nancy El-Far. James Clayton who, with his two brothers, had been early employees, purchased the business in 2007.

On Page 117, the top of the photograph was inadvertently cropped out during the production process. Here is the full photo, as it should have appeared.

Looking southwest from the Black Brook area in the mid-1960s, Fletcher's Paint Store and Barton's Motel are seen in foreground, the Shore Diner near the railroad crossing and the Tekwood plant beyond the railroad crossing. In the distance, Lakes Opechee and Winnisquam are seen from a different perspective in this Loran Percy photo.  LACONIA PUBLIC LIBRARY
